Where Is The Discipline, Passion & Hunger For Study?

Back in the days, as a teenager who is seeking admission into the university, I read my books; I studied very hard, I attended tutorial classes and was punctual too.

I knew my future depended on the admission into the university and I don't need anyone to remind me or force me to study my books so I studied very hard. Pleaded with my parents to buy past questions for me and studied them diligently.

As a teenager, all I think about was how to get admission into the University and I knew that my future depended on that admission.

But today, what we see is the opposite, you have to force teenagers to read their book, you have to beg them as if you are the one seeking admission into the university and not them.

Everywhere they go, they carry their phones with them and keep pressing their phones even in tutorial classes.

So, you are forced to ask, Does this child really want this admission? does he/she really want to enter the university?

Now how do they want to achieve that? how do they expect to gain admission into the university without studying?

Thank God for JAMB, let JAMB continue to teach them a lesson that success isn't achieved on a platter, it comes with real hard work and the ability to sit down and study.

With the mass failure in this year 2025 UTME examinations, I hope many teenagers will come back to their senses and do away with their phones and start studying for examinations.

If you must gain admission into any tertiary institutions, then study your books and take your academics serious. Enough is enough of this nonchalant and lackadaisical attitude towards studying and reading for examination.
