ACTION IS THE REAL MEASURE OF INTELLIGENCE

“Action is the real measure of intelligence” ~ Napoleon Hill

No matter how good your decisions may be, they must be backed up with positive actions, if not, they are just a waste of time.

For about a week now, I have been doing marketing for my business. I got to this school and introduced my bulk sms service to them. The Proprietor said, “I have been hearing about bulk sms, but I don’t really understand it. Can you quickly do a practical on it by sending a text to my phone?”

I agreed. I quickly brought out my blackberry phone, asked for his phone number, opened my bulksms site and sent him a message. He was impressed and without wasting time, we went into further negotiations.

The truth is, you don’t need to tell people that you are intelligent, they will know by the actions you are taking. You claim to be intelligent in school, graduated with a first class degree, have never failed any exams.

Now the question is what are the positive actions you are taking towards achieving your dreams?

The only thing that separates your decision from reality is action. Whatever you desire to get, whatever position you desire to attain, hardwork will take you there.

Listen to Nore Roberts “If you don’t go after what you want, you will never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no, if you don’t step forward, you are always in the same place”

Did you get that? Go after what you want. What stops you from achieving  your dreams? Laziness is the answer. The earlier you starts working hard towards making your dream a reality, the better for you.

5 TIPS NEEDED TO BUILD SELF-CONFIDENCE

Do you have belief in yourself? Self confidence is the belief or trust you have in yourself, it is the idea that you can make it.
Sometimes, you ask yourself this question, “Can I take this step?” by doubting yourself means you won’t take that step? This type of self doubt means that you lack the confidence in yourself.

Tips to building Self-confidence

1.        Identify your insecurities: Insecurity is the lack of  trust in yourself or in your relationship with people. Look intently at yourself. Fish out where you lost your confidence. Is it because of the enormous task ahead or the risk of taking it? If it is the task, just tell yourself, “I can overcome the  arduous task?” Don’t be weighed down by what you know you can do; it will only require a lot of effort and dedication.

2.        Trust and believe in yourself: Trust is when you have believe in someone or when you have confidence in people. You choose to trust people; no one forces you to believe someone else.  But you choose who you are to trust. So if you can trust others, why not trust yourself? Why not believe in your ability and capability? There is something you can do very well. Do not look down on yourself, rather take that bold step, it is by taking that step, that your confidence starts building.

3.        Look in the Mirror and smile: The  only object that has a clear view of you; your shape, size, height is your mirror. I am sure you have mirrors in your house. So stand in front of it, look at your beautiful and handsome self, look deep inside, the goal, the gift hidden in you, imagine yourself on higher ground and smile at your image in the mirror.  See the beautiful and elegant  smile, fresh chin, smile again and appreciate the work of nature in you. If your life can give you the beautiful you, then there is a beautiful and precious gift inside you, why not work towards it?

4.        Move with morale-boosting friends: A famous saying goes, “Show me your friends and I will tell you who you are”. Yes, the kind of friends you move with determine who you are or will become. If you run around with corrupt friends, you will become corrupted. Therefore, move around with bold and ambitious people. People who always inspire you towards achieving your dream.

5.        Avoid perfectionism: You can’t attain perfectionism, so you don’t try to chase it. No one is perfect, everyone has his/her flaws, but you can get better. Everybody makes mistakes but it is stupid to repeat the same mistake.

So believe in yourself, correct your mistakes, move with the right people who inspires you towards bringing out the next. Don’t aim for perfection, rather keep improving on yourself. Smile and say to yourself, “I can make it”.

OUR WORST FEAR

“Take the first step in faith, you don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step” ~ Martin Luther King Jr

Our worst fear is failure, and most people live under the shadow of failure that they are so scared of failing that they don’t take any risk at all.

But listen to me, our worst fear shouldn’t be failure but “How do you rise each time you fail?”

You must understand that failure happens to everyone but real successful people are those who rose up whenever they encountered failure and kept trying until they achieved success.

If you have failed before or even failed many times, then don’t be afraid anymore, rather think of how to rise each time you fail.

I had tasted the bitter pill of failure that I am not scared of failing anymore. All I just do is to take that bold step and if I fail I try again and if I succeed, I proceed to take another step.

So today, like a snail, you must come out of your shell if you must get to where you are going. Don’t be scared of failure anymore.

Ralph Waldo Emerson advised, “Do the things you fear and the fear of death is certain”

WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

It was Abraham Lincoln that said, “The world stand aside for any man to pass who knows where he is going”

Now, the question for today is where are you going? Most people always say that they haven’t achieve anything, others would day that they haven’t achieve their dream. Now ask them, “What is their dream? You will be surprised that most of them don’t even have a dream.

Listen to Lawrence .J. Peters, “If you don’t know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else”.

So I challenge you today to have a dream. Write it down. Set daily goals. Write them down where you can always read it. The point is he knew where you are going.

Lets take a close study at the life of Abraham Lincoln. He became the president of America at age sixty(60). He failed more than 11 times. He was born in extreme poverty, but he never gave up all because he knows where he was going. He ended up becoming one of America’s greatest presidents who helped to keep America united during the civil war.

The bottom line is ask yourself this question, “Where am I going?” What do I really want to achieve?” once you have discovered it, then give everything towards achieving it”

I will end with this quote from Martin Luther King Jnr that, “If you haven’t found what you will die for, then you are not fit to live.

INITIATOR NOT IMITATOR

“It is better to die in originality than to succeed in imitation” ~ Herman Melville

You were created as an original being, formed in the image and likeness of God. You are unique and one of a kind. Stop wishing you were someone else !!!!

Appreciate what God has made you to be and start developing the gifts God has given you. You are a unique blend of gifts and character and you have a special purpose on earth. This you must know.

Long before you were conceived by your mother, God knew you already. He had formed you and destined what you were born to be. God carefully chose your race, sex, skin colour and your physique.

He carefully planned for you and deposited in you the gifts, talents, skills that you possess. You are neither an accident nor a coincidence.

So today, refuse to copy anybody. Be an INITIATOR, and not an Imitator. Think and come up with your own ideas.

William Albright said, “The man who follow the crowd will never be followed by a crowd”

So step out of the crowd and take the lead. Be an initiator!

TRUST GOD COMPLETELY

One day, a man planted a tree as ask God for rain to help it grow and God send rain. Next, he prayed for sunshine and God sent sunshine. Finally, he prayed for frost to strengthen its branches and God sent that too, but the tree died.

Greatly upset, the man decided to consulted  Master gardener. “I ordered all the right things to make it grow, what went wrong?” he asked. The gardener took him aside and showed him his own garden, filled with healthy plants and trees.

Listen to the gardener, “When I plant a garden, I ask God to send whatever I feels it needs. I figure he knows best”

Most of us are like the man in the above story. When we pray, we tell God what we want rather than what God wants for us. Most times we act like instructors, instructing God and telling him what to do.

Why can’t we just be like the master gardener in the story. Submit totally to the will of God, trust Him completely for He knows what is best for our idea.

For you to live a fulfilled life, you must trust God completely, submit totally to His will for He knows what is best for your life.

YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT

One of my favourite motivational story talks about a man who wanted to make an impact on the world. As a young man, he wanted to change the world but he couldn’t. Days passed by, months passed by and years rolled past and he kept pondering on how to make an impact.

But now an old man, he discovered himself and realized that he would had started by making an impact on his family, his family would make an impact on his community, his community would affect his town, his town would make an impact on his city. His city would impact the country and his country would change the world.

Now, as an old man, the only person he could change was himself and if he had worked on himself many years ago, he would had made an impact.

So if you want to make a change and affect the world positively, start with yourself. And when others see the change in you, they will want to be like you, others will ant to be like them and gradually, you are making an impact.

Don’t look too far, speak to that friend of yours, your colleague, coursemate, boss, leader, siblings, parents, start be impacting their lives.
Yes, you can make an impact.
