 Celebrating the 'Golden Father of Afrobeats and Afro Pop

Tony Tetuila, the radiant star of Kennis Music and one-third of the legendary hip-hop ensemble, 'The Remedies,' alongside Eedris Abdulkareem and Eddie Montana.

His solo journey ignited with a groundbreaking, FIRST EVER 'diss track,' 'OMODE META, featuring Blackface, Ruff Rugged and Raw and 2baba in 1998, etching his name in Nigerian music history. However, it was the timeless anthem 'MY CAR 🚗' that etched its melodies deep within our hearts.

'MY CAR' was more than a song;

it was a precious memory, the tune that made us save our 5 to 10 naira to get a copy, grab a pen, and inscribe the lyrics in our souls. It was a must-cram topic, a symphony to sing to our classmates - the soundtrack of our youthful exuberance. And who could forget the day when Momma caught us fervently memorizing every word?

Oh, the joyous reminiscence.

Beyond his 2001 hit song 'MY CAR,' Tony Tetuila's artistry continued to soar with other gems albums like 'E Go Better' and 'Free Soldier,' creating an enduring legacy in the annals of Afrobeats Evolution.

Today, we salute a legend, a pioneer, and an everlasting source of inspiration. Tony Tetuila, you've left an indelible mark on our hearts. Live long, Legend. 💜
