From left to right;
AIG Imoukhuede (Access Bank),
Segun Agbaje (GTB),
Herbert Wigwe (Access Bank) and
Tayo Aderinokun (GTB).
Back in the day when they were just young men with big dreams. Unfortunately, Tayo died at 56 in 2011 from ill health and Herbert died recently in 2024 at 57 in an accident.
The fickle nature of life makes you ask if working hard is really worth it when an illness or accident can take you away from your family and loved ones in a blink of an eye.
But that is what makes life worth living. Knowing your existence adds value to people around you and doing your best to make here a better place for everyone around you.
Two of my friends read Banking and Finance in school because they followed the story of Herbert in the early days of Access and are doing well in Canada now. Such was his influence on young people wishing to become professionals.
All dreams start small, but they don't have to end there. Do what you can.
Till we get to the Promised Land, I shall be waiting for when you will pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the race.
