"I was born and brought up in Lagos, Nigeria, and I grew up in an area called Olusosun. My humble beginnings were really tough for me.

I lost my mom when I was still a very young boy, and three months after my mom died, my father lost his job.

Things became hard for me, my elder sister, and my brother. I had to sell pure water in the traffic 🚦of Lagos just to survive with my siblings.

I also cleaned gutters for N20 for my landlord—may his soul rest in perfect peace.

I did cleaning jobs for neighbors, like fetching water for them for N80 daily. I found pleasure in doing these things because I believed that when I worked hard to earn this money, I would spend it with caution.

My brother was selling newspapers, while my sister was selling oranges. Meanwhile, I was in the traffic, chasing cars with my pure water. The struggles I went through really shaped me into the man I am today, and I’m truly grateful to God.

Where I came from, nothing was promised. No one would tell you they believed in you. I had to do all these things because I knew football was the only hope my family and I had to survive and live the better life we are living now.

You. Yes, you. Don’t give up. God can bless anybody. Your struggles will not be forgotten. I know it isn’t easy, but it is possible. You’re the next star.
